Telegram Bot for Doctor Appointments with Specialist Matching

The patient picks what’s bothering them with buttons, the bot suggests the right doctor and books: name, phone and preferred time go to the front desk chat. Urgent questions go straight to an administrator in the Helpdesk. The bot collects no diagnoses or test results.

In short

The “Clinic Appointment & Doctor Matching” template is a ready-made Telegram bot flow in Forgebot for private clinics that lets a patient pick a complaint with a button, names the right doctor and collects the name, phone and preferred time for the front desk. The bot collects no diagnoses, symptoms or test results — booking only.

After signing up: Flows → All Templates → “Clinic Appointment & Doctor Matching”. Free plan — no card required.

The Task

Who It's For and What It Solves

For private clinics, dental practices and medical centres that get calls asking “which doctor should I see?”. The bot first says it doesn't diagnose, offers five plain options — teeth, skin, heart and blood pressure, child, something else — and suggests a specialist: a dentist, dermatologist, cardiologist, paediatrician or general practitioner. Urgent questions go straight to a live administrator.

How the Bot Talks to a Customer

The Flow

How the Flow Works, Step by Step

  1. A notice: the bot does not diagnose.
  2. What’s bothering them — with buttons.
  3. The Filter picks a specialist.
  4. “Book Appointment” or “Urgent Question”.
  5. Name, phone with one tap, morning/afternoon/evening.
  6. The request goes to the front desk chat.
  7. Urgent questions go to an administrator in the Helpdesk.
Setup

What to Adjust for Your Business

  • Change the complaints and doctors to fit your clinic: buttons, Filter conditions and “Set Variable” blocks.
  • Put the clinic name and the front desk chat ID into the bot fields.
  • Connect an operator channel in Chats — without it the scenario won’t publish.
  • Don’t ask patients to describe symptoms or send test results in the bot — booking only.
  • The scenario starts with /start: after “Urgent Question” the bot stays quiet and doesn’t interrupt the administrator.

Recommendations

  • We recommend naming complaint options in patients' own words (“Teeth”, “Skin”) rather than department names, because people pick what is bothering them.
  • We recommend keeping your emergency number in the greeting, because the bot replies with a scripted flow, not a live person on the spot.

What the Template Doesn't Do

  • The bot doesn't diagnose and doesn't ask about symptoms or test results — it only helps choose a specialist and book.
  • The front desk names the exact appointment time: the bot only asks whether morning, afternoon or evening suits better.
  • The “Urgent Question” button needs an operator channel connected in the Chats section — without it the flow won't publish.
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the bot diagnose or give medical advice?

No. The very first message says the bot does not diagnose and, in a life-threatening emergency, tells the patient to call the local emergency number. The bot only matches the complaint to a specialist and books the appointment.

How does the bot choose a doctor?

The “Conditions” block matches the chosen complaint to a specialist: “Teeth” — dentist, “Skin” — dermatologist, “Heart, Blood Pressure” — cardiologist, “Child” — paediatrician, “Something Else” — general practitioner. You can change the pairs to fit your clinic.

What happens with an “Urgent Question”?

The bot hands the chat to an administrator in the Helpdesk with a note on which doctor fits, then goes quiet so it doesn't interrupt. The administrator replies right in that chat.
