Telegram bot payments: sell right in the chat

Your bot issues an invoice in the conversation, the subscriber pays without leaving Telegram, and the flow delivers the purchase. All in one platform with the builder, live chat and analytics.

TL;DR

Payments in Forgebot are a Telegram bot flow block: the invoice is issued right in the chat via Telegram payments, and after a successful payment the flow continues — delivering content, access or an order confirmation. The money is processed by your payment provider; Forgebot takes no cut of your sales.

What’s inside

Sales inside the chat

Payment is built into the flow — from invoice to delivery, with no website and no external payment pages.

Invoice in the chat

The bot sends an invoice into the conversation — the subscriber pays without leaving Telegram. The payment form opens inside the app.

Payment as a flow block

Put payment anywhere in the funnel: after a quiz, a form or a warm-up series. It is a regular builder block, like a message or a branch.

Delivery after payment

The flow continues after a successful payment: content, access or a confirmation — automatically, with no manual order processing.

Buyers in your CRM

The payment is tied to the subscriber: conversation history, contact fields and segments in one place. Offering buyers the next product is easy.

Questions go to an operator

The live chat sits next door: a buyer asks a question — an operator answers in the same chat. Sales and support never drift into separate channels.

Team notifications

Send an order event to an admin chat or channel — the team learns about the purchase instantly, no checking mail or spreadsheets.

How it works

How to accept payments in a Telegram bot: 5 steps

From connecting a provider to delivering the purchase — no website, cart or payment page required. Every step happens in the platform workspace and BotFather.

  1. Connect a payment provider

For physical goods and services the provider is connected to the bot in BotFather (Bot Settings → Payments) — Telegram's official mechanism. Digital goods use Telegram Stars, so no separate provider is needed. Connecting is free; the provider list for your country is visible right in BotFather.

  2. Add a payment block to the flow

Payment is a regular builder block: the product name, amount and currency live in its settings. Put it anywhere in the funnel — after a quiz, a form or a warm-up series. One flow can sell several products — in different branches.

  3. The bot sends an invoice in the chat

The subscriber receives the invoice as a native Telegram message and pays without leaving the conversation. No links to external payment pages. The name and price are visible to the subscriber in the invoice before paying.

  4. The flow delivers the purchase

After a successful payment the flow continues automatically: content, access to a private community, or an order confirmation — no manual processing. Perfect for digital products: guides, courses, access passes.

  5. The buyer stays in the CRM

The payment is tied to the subscriber: conversation history, fields and segments sit right next to it. The team can get an order notification in an admin chat, and the live chat picks up any questions. The “buyers” segment will come in handy for your next launch.

How Telegram payments work

The payment mechanics are official Telegram ones. We say plainly who is responsible for what. No fine print.

Official Telegram payments

The invoice is a native Telegram format: the payment form opens inside the app, familiar to the subscriber. It is the same mechanism shops and services use across Telegram. The mechanism is described in Telegram's open documentation.

Money goes to the provider

The payment is processed by the payment provider connected to your bot, and the money lands in your account with that provider. Forgebot is not part of the money chain.

Only the provider sees the card

Telegram does not store or process payment data — card details stay with the payment provider. Neither bots nor platforms have access to them.

Transparent fees

Telegram charges no commission for the payments API, and Forgebot takes no cut of your sales. What remains is the provider's own fee — per its public rates. For example, Stripe in the US charges 2.9% + 30¢ per successful charge.

FAQ

About bot payments

What is a Telegram bot payment?

It is taking a payment right inside the bot chat: the subscriber gets an invoice and pays without leaving Telegram. In Forgebot a payment is a flow block; after a successful payment the flow continues — delivering content, access, or an order confirmation. Physical goods are paid via a payment provider, digital ones via Telegram Stars. No website or payment page is needed — the whole purchase path happens in the conversation.

How does a subscriber pay in the bot?

The bot issues an invoice right in the chat via official Telegram payments. Physical goods and services are paid through a payment provider connected to your bot; digital goods use Telegram Stars. The payment form opens inside Telegram — no redirect to a website.

Do I need to set anything up?

Yes: to accept payments for physical goods you connect a payment provider to your bot (done in BotFather). Digital goods use Telegram Stars — no separate provider needed. Connection happens in BotFather: Bot Settings → Payments.

What are the fees for bot payments?

Forgebot takes no commission on payments — you only pay for your platform plan. Payments run through the payment provider connected to your bot (or Telegram Stars for digital goods), and the provider's fees apply per its own pricing. Compare the rates of providers available in your country before connecting.

Which currency can the invoice use?

The currency is set in the payment block settings, and the available set depends on the connected payment provider. Digital goods are settled in Telegram Stars. The amount and currency are visible to the subscriber in the invoice before paying.

When does the money arrive?

Settlement happens directly between you and your payment provider: the provider defines the payout timing. Forgebot never holds your money and is not part of the settlement.

What happens after payment?

The flow continues from the payment point: deliver content or access, confirm the order and notify the team in an admin chat. The buyer stays in the CRM — with history and segments.

Do I need a website to accept payments?

No. The invoice is issued in the chat, the payment happens inside Telegram via the provider, and delivery runs in the same flow. No website, cart or payment page — the bot covers the whole purchase path. A bot and a connected provider are enough.

Do I see the buyer in the CRM?

Yes. The buyer is a subscriber of your bot: conversation history, contact fields and segments for future campaigns sit right next to the payment. A repeat sale starts from a familiar contact, not a cold list.

What can I sell?

Goods, services and subscriptions: access to content or a private community — anything that fits Telegram's payment rules. Physical goods go through a provider, digital goods through Telegram Stars.
